-HYpothetical question-
say i was to build a single cam block(crx si 1.6 non-vtec) but i want to have low compression like the single cam vtec block to go with the vtec head. If i was to build the crx block and buy forged pistons and rods would it matter if i used a non-vtec(crx) or vtec(z6) block? would the compression be the same on both blocks if i used the same pistons and rods? What is the difference between non-vtec and vtec single cam block?

dangit. Check it. You cant use 1.5 liter pistons in a 1.6 because of wristpin location. You can use 1.6 in 1.6 though. AND the VX is a special case that I am not 100% sure of what you can use there. Also. Each is going to give you different CR numbers. Say if you used z6 pistons in a a6 you are going to get lower cr. But if you do the opposite, the numbers are higher. Just buy the right stuff.
no im not talking about putting 1.5 pistons or any parts 1.5 into a 1.6 block im basically asking what makes the compression higher when when u have a vtec head on a a6 block rather then the z6 block...? is it the pistons? rods? is the stroke shorter or longer?
The z6 has tighter clearances inside the cc if i remember correctly, bsically there is more room inside the a6 head, thus making it have less compression #'s. Less room = more compression!
