dseries guess
yes, i hate these stupid questions too, but i just wanted all of these h-t pros opinions and remarks..
Im building a d16z6 and i wanted some guesstimates at what u think it will do...this is the setup:
z6 block/head
p29 pistons
y8 2layer headgasket..~12.6:1 compression
shot peened rods(doesnt help with hp i kno..)
Fully ported and polished head
intake and header portmatched
ported z6 intake with b18b throttlebody
cold air intake
dc 4-1
isky springs/retainers
exospeed race cam
unorthodox pulley
2.25 ex. with dynomax resonator and n1 silencer
fidanza 9lb flywheel
act 4 puck
For fuel management im going to do the hack with possibly 310cc injectors..what do u recommend i use? EIther that or im going to go turboedit until i can afford to go obd1 and hondata.
What kind of guess do u guys have to the ground?

the z6 head does flow better, but u have a better chance of getting detonation with the z6 becuz of the way the quench pads are in the combustion chambers.
And the y8 intake does flow better, its built the same as the type R just on a smaller scale.
The reason im building with this list of parts is becuz there all laying in the garage, and i want to see how low of times i can do for under about 800 bucks. All in a 91 std hatch.
And i edit'd the original post to say tuning with turboedit instead of uberdata.

im gonna be running the same setup, how come u just dont run integra injectors?that what im prob be running? keep us posted on what times u lay down
the integra injectors flow the same amount as the civic injectors..i think.
I may not need the 310cc injectors..im looking for opinions..i just thought that with that high of a compression i might need a good bit of fuel to deter detonation.

Stock injectors will be fine...just save up and go hondata P28...if you are going to spend the money on a port/polish job why not go with the Y8 head? Like you said more compression and less detonation...and from Builthatch on D-series.org who has pretty much the same setup with Y8 head, he says the Y8 will flow just as well if not better than a Z6 head with a proper PP job.
Just my 2 cents...
Just my 2 cents...
so stock injectors will be fine for high compression??
i would love to run the bisi header but florida heat is a killer, so a.c has to stay...my other question is if the hondata s100 is fine for my setup...tahnx

Stock injectors will be fine. The Hondata S100 is pretty much the same minus a few features. Go to http://www.hondata.com and it lists the features between the two, you just need to decide if they are worth it to you. I hear you on the Florida heat. I'm in Tampa, I kept my A/C.
I know stock injectors will be fine for 99% of our N/A setups however i have heard of getting the injectors balanced. I'm not familiar with what this does but check out this link to d-series.org. Some of you may have seen this before, i copied it into another N/A all motor thread a week or so ago. Just read the last half where Builthatch comes in...

ive been thinking about this...im going to spend about 240 bucks on a vafc when for less than another hundred i can just get the s100 if i shop around a lil...
And i wish i could go bisi header but im staying on a budget...But now that i dont need injectors..theres about another 80 i could throw towards the bisi header.
And i dont want to go y8 becuz i had one already..i want the z6 head for a reason

if you get your injectors flow matched and balanced, it will insure that each injector is operating within a certain % of each other. If you have an older set of injectors or injectors from another source used, this is a good idea. I was told it runs about $15-$25 per injector. Just on a side note, that is some borderline compression. I dont know if I would run that without straight 93...er...and additive..lol
