Default header-tech header on a gsr?

I was has a dyno of the header on a b18c1. I've searched, but only found dynos of b1c5's. And would i be able to retain a/c with these headers?

You will be able to retain AC as far as dyno numbers wait for the results of Titanmotorsports header test they will be one of the 8 or 9 headers tested.

Yes, you will be able to retain A/C with these headers.

So.... anyone have the Header-Tech header on their GS-R? I got me one, but have a few questions for those who are running one in their car.

I really need to know how people are running this header with a cat. The length of the cat and what type it is.

I'm thinkin about getting a Cat with a 3" inch Inlet and 2.5" inch Outlet, since the Header-Tech header has a 3" inch collector. I just need to know how long the cat needs to be, to be able to fit.

ANY info would be appreciated. Thanks.

What I really need is the length between the Header-Tech header flange and the 2000 GS-R exhaust flange, so I can order a cat with a specified Length to fit in between without a problem.

i dont think they offer a gsr only header. the headers they offer change only w/ displacement. they are built/tuned using specific lenght tubes. it will be much longer than a stock gsr header . mine was a good 6-8 inches longer than a jdm itr header. also due to this being hand built they may vary slightly from one to another. my advise is wait till you recieve it and see if there is enough room for a cat.

Hey Skunk2nR, what I did (and I think I told you this before) was get a 2.5" Carsound cat and got one of HeaderTech's 3"-2.5" conversion piece and welded it to the cat. The length of my cat is 16.25" from flange to flange. I have the 3" flange on the side where it meets the header, and a 2.5" flange on the side where it meets the exhaust piping.

As far as dynos go, I will have a dyno of my motor posted this friday with video

Yea, I already have a 3" - 2.5" reduce pipe. But after looking underneath my car, it looks like it won't be able to fit with a cat unless a part of the exhaust pipe is cut off. That's why I don't wanna use the reduce pipe and instead go with a cat straight from the collector flange.

I guess I'll have to get a cat and take it to a Muffler shop to install the header and cat, to make all of it fit.

You don't have space between the header and the exhaust to fit a cat? There should be enough room for a cat that is almost stock length. I remember the HeaderTech header being just about the same length as my stock header. If you have the cat and the reducer pipe, my suggestion is to get under the car and actually see just how close everything is to fitting and then measure it all up and then weld it.

Hmm... thas wierd.

Are you serious? Right now, I'm running on a DC 4-1 header (USDM) with Stock cat. They're all bolted up nicely.

The Header-Tech header is ALOT longer than the DC 4-1 header. Especially if I add the reduce pipe.

While you're dynoing the car, take some pictures of underneath the car for us.
