Default wrap it up for protection?

i took my type s to the car wash 2day,about 2 weeks ago i got a injen SRI
so, before i wash my car i decided to put a plastic bag over the filter so it wouldnt get wet. I did this because there is a big opening to the engine bay from the wheel well
so i didnt want ne water getttin to the filter from the high pressure hose
well, ne way i after i was done i forgot to take the bag off. I realized this when it the car bogged after i turned it on, well i shut the car off and and took the bag off but the filter was already bent pretty bad, i straightend it out a lil bit though
it seems to work fine but i was pissed cuz it was new

Do you need just the filter? Or did you bend something else?

what were u washing the engine or the car. if the outsiee how the f can u soak a sri from the outside seems almost imposs. to me. plus even if the filter gets wet the oiled filter will repell the water and it wont harm then engine you only get probs with a submerged filter

I don't understand why you covered it with a plastic bag, but anyway the thing that really puzzles me is it being bent, Its hard for me to think how a plastic bag over your filter would bend something when mashing on the gas...

I understand what you mean about not wanting to get the filter wet, but as long as you don't get it soaked you would be alright, and plus I dont think you would get it wet anyway. I wouldn't worry about it from now on.

and if you are paranoid about getting it wet, after you wash your car just pop the hood and check to see if it got wet at all.

no, just the filter got bent inwards because the engine was suckin in , but it wasnt gettin ne air
and i covered the filter because u can clearly see the filter if u look though the wheel wells so i though water from the hi pressure hose would get to it
i donno, i just felt like a douche bag, theres no serious damage
