sounds like you might have a draw. disconnect the - battery terminal and connect a test light or multimeter between the lead and the terminal. If there is voltage you have a draw. then start pulling fuse till you find the problem.

Like Martha said, use a tester while pulling fuses one by one until you see when the battery quits drawing down. That will tell you which circuit the short or problem is in. I just had the same thing happen to me two days ago when the car got water in it from a flood. It shorted out the amp under the seat, draining the battery. I checked fuses until the clock/radio circuit showed to be the problem. Pulled the fuse, kept on driving.

What exactly are you having a prob with, is your battery just giving out on you like what happens, when this happens? does it happen more at night(there might be a reason for this I'll explain if it does) or during the day(if day idk why then). i was having a battery drain problem a while ago. there are several things that it could be. and i can tell you ho to fix it. let me know

sorry about all the questions just trying to figure out what is the prob exactly.

yea no problem, its all strange. if i let it sit over night i can start it up and go but it seems that when the lights and things that pull a lot are on it drains down quick and everything gets dim and no more power to run things. and then it wont restart with out a jump or i let it sit again. thanks

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by mt23vtecbb2 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">ok, i have a 96 lude si. 23vtec, jdmp13 ecu, vafc, and the battery is in the trunk, i have 0 gage cable hot and two grounds one in the trunk and one in the motor.</TD></TR></TABLE>

I have a feeling you aren't grounding properly.

Try the fuse pulling thing to see if that isolates the problem first...then recheck your connections for the trunk mounted battery.

The prob I am having is that I decided to go to Auto Zone and have them check out my Battery and alt (alt=alternator). They tell me that my battery and alt. are bad so I have to get a new one. I just got the lude not long ago so I call the guy that I bought it from and he tells me he just bought a brand new battery and alt. before he sold me the car. I start to take it out and I had to losen the AC so that I can get the alt. top bolt to come all the way out cause the AC was in the way. I get the alt in there and tighten everything back up and nowI get one in and have them charge the battery and I put it and take my battery to Pep Boys so that they can give me a new one after they test it. They tested it and said that it was fine. I put it in the car and crank it afer everything is ready to go. I crank it and I hear this really oud screatch. I am thinking that it would be the AC belt, alt belt, or the pully from the alt. I decided to take everything off the battery like the car alarm, turned off the radio, and pulled out the system. I decided to turn nothing on other than what is needed like the headlights. I drive it and get to a stop sign and it is in neutral I pressed the gas and the headlights got brighter. I pressed the highbeams and the gauge lights got dim for a second. When I press the gas to any RPM when it goes back down it drops to 500 RPM and then goes back up to the OEM 800 RPM. I can't figure it out... what could be the problem? Sorry for te long story everyone..

Check your grounds. bad grounds or missing grounds will cause alot of problems that can be mistaken for bad alt, battery.

hey i have had that problem with my rpms dropping off...hint change your oil. lol. i know that doesn't even sound right. but i changed my oil and i never had the prob again. it still doesn't make sense to me. idk. but it worked. have you ever had it just die on you like that. like the rpms drop so low and the engine can't bring it back up to 800. like i have dropped to 450 before and then it just dies, sucks ***, look like an idiot "stalling my car" but i had nothing to do with it. what ever. just change the oil see if it helps
