Default JDM 4-1 Header Powerband!!

Hey guys, I want to get a jdm 4-1 but i hear you will lose alot bottom end with it and just basic mods? I want to get a jdm 4-1, and i only have i/e. I hear i will lose alot of bottom end, but i may recover some on a nearly stock motor if i get a vtec controller and move the vtec crossover to like 5400-5700. How is everyones setup with this header, what is vtec set at, and what does the power band feel like? Im just worried about losing power. I wann get it bad cuz im goin tio build a good all motor setup and just get thebasic bolt ons done with. Thanks alot.

you dont want to move your vtec point...

but get it...you wanna buy parts for your long-term goal, so buy it with the mind set that you are going to build up your engine and you will NEED this header...

Heres an old dyno graph of my car from way back in the day. This is when i had ITR cams and just switched from my RSR header to the JDM 4-1. That was the only mod done between the two graphs.

Both tests were done open header. As you can see, big improvement. For info on the mods of the car at the time, go to http://66.27.133.90:82 . Look under the integra. This was with a stock GSR bottom end as well. Not the B20 it has now.

i have the header, intake and exhaust (the same as what you will have) and I experienced NO loss in power ANYWHERE. I felt solid gains from 1000-8000 RPM. But once you hit 6k, it feels great.

Get the JDM header!

GZR4DR: I take it that the motor is heavily modifed (200whp ) so whatever differences between the headers are really amplified. In other words, Big Teggie, don't expect 7whp over another aftermarket header.

BTW impressive numbers.

The JDM header screams top end. Pull on itr's all the time with old setup. New setup consists af a drag 3 manifold LOL.

I agree with Mr. Grandprix. My car feels no different in low RPM range and much stronger in mid to high RPMs. The thing just screams now. I'm also noticing better/quicker throttle response and a stronger throttle response when cruising on the highway. Also, with the header and new exhaust that went on at the same time, I've got the added benefit of actually hearing the VTEC crossover now, and boy does it sound mean on the hot cam!
