Default What crank and stroke for an 85mm sleeved B18C1?

In need of knowledge from you all-motor camp bros. Im interested in an LSVTEC or CRVTEC setup with my 85mm sleeved b18c1 motor. I recently built an N/A B18C1 fully built 12:1 cr. Kept the gsr stroke. Results sucked even with hondata tuning. I tempted to turbo the motor but i wanna do it rght all motor first.
Id like to know which crank, (CRV,LS,Or B17GSR) would be ideal to slap in my b18c1 block, and what size rods to go with. Gonna go 10:1 on the pistons. Also curious if any custom fab on bottom end would need to be performed to have rod clearance. I wanna keep it streetable cause its a daily driver. Built motor is on the engine stand and im rollin a JDM B16 in the teg. My head is being repaired right now, I think there were leakdown problems that had something to do with my shitty numbers on my setup. Id like to get 220 hp, 160 tq with an all motor setup.

Which crank, stroke should i go with. Im gonna run a CR of 10:1 cause i may boost it later. Did a search and couldnt put random bits of info together so feel free to kick me some knowledge. Thanks

well i dont see how the 87.2 crank sucked or how a 81.4 mm(b17) would do u any better..but any ways try the 89.mm ls/b20 crank..

Those are the same cranks eh? Yeah the 87.2 i was sure shoud be fine but i only laid down 163hp and 130 tq.

What rod size should i use? I would think the GSR spec eagle rods i have right now wouldnt work with the longer stroke.

use ls length rods...i belive there 137mm.. and i believe the gsr are 137.9mm..or u can use the same rod with a custom piston..and a relocated pin.

ughhhh, if you have a b18c1 motor sleeved to 85mm, why would you want an lsvtec or crvtec setup?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote"> I recently built an N/A B18C1 fully built 12:1 cr. Kept the gsr stroke. Results sucked even with hondata tuning. </TD></TR></TABLE>

so do you have b18c1 sleeved to 85mm, or a block near stock bore? (i.e. 81mm, 81.5)
if results sucked even with hondata tuning and 12:1 cr., why not you tell us about the rest of your "setup" and we can help you from there? also your goals and why your setup didn't work. maybe you also need to find another tuner.

do a search under "omniman" and check out his setup. he used a b20 block (STOCK BORE) with gsr crank, rods and i believe stock b20z pistons, b16 head..had only like 10:7.1 compression and made well over 220 and a grip of torque..i THINK in the 160's..

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I tempted to turbo the motor but i wanna do it rght all motor first.</TD></TR></TABLE>

again, what are your goals? if you're gonna boost, you'd want to go with lower compression pistons, and also the boost option with hondata.. if NA you'd wanna keep the compression a lil higher and would not need the boost option for your hondata. have your goals set, along with your BUDGET.

ughh, CRV and LS crank SAME THING. your gsr crank should work great.
"10:1 on the pistons" ...uhh, with a b16 head or gsr head..
stock rods should be fine unless you're going FI.

click on that thing on the top right hand corner that says <U>Search</U>

shouldn't you check the cylinder numbers or somethin? also, what's being "repaired" with/on your head? what kinda head is it..

please go a LIL higher than 10:1 with all motor. you're gonna need it if you want that much power..also what kinda cams, header and other parts are you using? who's your tuner?
