how much would it cost for a engine rebuild from a honda dealer? my h23a engine has almost 150k miles on it already, and i just want to save money on the side incase something happens to the engine so i can mod my car with out worries, so do u guys have any idea how much it would cost for a regular rebuild? around 1000?

 

hehe, from Honda, try about 3000 or a little less mabey.

 

yeah, if you take care of your engine (change fluids & filters) as you should
it will last a long time. You should keep it and slowly build it up..
or do the VTEC Swap.

Oem parts rock, imo. As for pistons/rods, I agree, now may be a good time to buildup your block(if you have an extra few grand). For everything else associated(bearings, belts, pumps, even rings) I would stick with honda parts.
