Quick coolant flush question
I need to flush all of the coolant out of the engine. I have the Helms and to fully flush the coolant I have to flush it from the radiator and engine block.
I know how to flush the radiator that is easy enough.
The question:
When I loosen the bolt on the block (the one next to the header) will coolant just start to flow out of the bolt hole?
The reason I ask, is that I don't want coolant all over the header and stuff. I just want to be prepared with the rate of fluid coming out of the block before I loosen that bolt. I guess I can cover things up with a plastic sheet or something.

This is the EXACT answer I was looking for. I am doing it in my garage and wasn't sure if coolant will go all over the place. I'll try and stuff a bucket or something in there and cover my floor with plastic.

Just put a pan bucket underneath your car. If the fluid gets on your header, wipe it off. It is not going to harm it.. waste of time if you take your header off IMO. lol

I am actually going to do it in February sometime, just preparing. I have to flush all the coolant out and then fill it with plain water. Just wanted an idea of what I was in for.
i flushed the coolant out of my block and was not prepared for the gush of nasty, urine smelling coolant that went absolutely everywhere. try to have your catch can as close to the block hole as possible.
