Default Valvetrain options on a6...(56k sloow)

These are the pics of the A6 motor I pulled apart last night. Found the reason for no compression in the cylinder was a broken valve. What are some good performance alternatives for the valvetrain? Plan for the motor was NA with a 55-75 shot down the road.

that is one burned valve.
What CR are you planning to run?
i'd say keep valves springs and retainers stock. get a cam. my choice was EF1.
you can have your valves heat treated or coated.
or you can get ferrea valves with ISKY springs and retainers.

I was looking to run highest compression on 93octane. Maybe a little less to be conservative . I havent heard too much lately about the EF-1 cams. I guess they have a site somewheres... I have had the plan to go with the stage3 on the exospeed head, which I believe covers the head and cam as a combo. The cam was a toss up between the 909 and the race. (mmmm...lumpy idle)I just didnt know if for the money spent, if I was buying unnecessary components. I also was reading the scattered debates on titanium retainers/springs, and was left to an aftermarket coating needed to insure longevity. lighter vavletrain = worth in cost/reliability??

Confused I am.

Exospeed stage three uses ISKY valvetrain and most likely SI SS valves.
depending on the redline you are looking for and the cam used it might be an overbuild or just right. i have been told a lot of people that stock springs are fine up to 8+K RPM even with the mild cam lift.
i was sold on the EF-1 cam mainly due to the reputation and the specs. we'll see how it works
incidentally i will most likely use stock valves and springs. with your juice considerations, burning exhaust valves is the main issue, getting SS valves might be a good idea.

I am pretty under educated about raising the rev limit. I need to check out EF-1. My goal is high to mid 13s on pump gas. Do you think there is a ef-1 cam better than the sr909?

never had experience with exospeed cams, check the specs and compare prices vs. performance.
