Default Cold air intakes rule! Dyno proven!

Heres a direct, back-to-back comparrison of a 3" "normal" intake vs a 3" cold air intake.
HUGE gains from 4100 to 5300 RPMs...as well as 2-3 HP and TQ increase above 5300!

Blue = Cold air intake
Red = Normal intake

Though what you're are not taking into effect... is how "good" is the factory intake? I.E. does it flow as BADLY as the stock GSR??? Or as GOOD as the stock ITR? Nonetheless, a CAI DOES help... but always note, gains vary tremedously...

Hell, for a gain... you should have seen what an intake did for a bud LT1. ick...

Nice

I guess you did this test with back to back dynos. Did you wait for the other intake to warm up before you performed the 2nd run?

Run .028 (cold air intake) was the 6th run of the day.
Run .029 (normal intake) was the 7th run of the day.

They were done about 90 seconds apart.

funny, because i did the same exact test- and it was about the same results. the cold air intake had a big leap of hp on the low end side; however, over all the short ram made 2whp more on the peak. the cold air intake was only 2.5" -
