97 JDM ITR steering wheel into 95 civic ex. Need HELP PLEASE
I just put a 97 jdm itr momo steering wheel onto my 95 civic ex. How do I hook up the horn. Does anyone have this set-up??? I noticed the power line goes straight into the wheel. Is the whole wheel the power source? and If so how do I connect power to the wheel. With what. I have a power souce from the horn but where do I connect it to on the wheel to get the it to connect to the horn button???
I have the Momo ITR nonSRS wheel in my 92 VX. The SRS airbag setup in the OEM wheel is what screws up everything since it places the horn wiring through the center and then the buttons are on the sides. The 88-91 Civic and CRX have a steering wheel setup just like the ITR. Behind the Civic/CRX steering wheel is a metal tab that makes contact with the back of the wheel. I removed that piece from a 90 CRX Si and mounted it onto my steering column, from there I connected the wiring down to the yellow connector under the dash. So when the horn button is pushed it makes contact and works perfect just as it should.
I followed a write up that a guy did but his was very confusing and made it out to be much harder than it really was. Check this out: ITR Momo Wheel into EG to get an idea of what I'm talking about. If you run into any trouble let me know.
