Should i get rid of the teg for a wrx?
Should i get rid of the teg for a wrx?
I am seriously considering selling the teg to my friend who offered $11,000 and getting a 2004 wrx. How i see it i have 3 options:
1. Sell the teg and get a wrx (would possibly happen within a month or two)
2. Keep teg and turbo (probably wouldnt happen until the end of summer 2004)
3. Keep teg and n/a (skunk2 stage 1/2 cams, skunk2 intake manifold, 2.5" header/exhaust, cam gears, etc...)
Right now my gsr has i/h/e but if i kept the car i would have to remove all of this for better flowing parts since the header is 2" and exhaust is 2.25". I also have skunk2 coilovers and azect sideskirts that are not installed that would be sold if i got rid of the car. If i keep it i will also get a comptech type r front lip and possibly an azect rear lip regardless of going na or turbo.
Im just torn between what i should do cause i would love to have a turbo awd new car but it would be hard to part with my teg.

id take a stock wrx over a stock gsr anyday, i would also take fully modded wrx over a full modded gsr
either way i look at it WRX > GSR and this is coming from a turbo gsr owner, 12.3's are fun for me but id really rather have the piece of mind in having a wrx. dont really have to worrie about theft, cops. everytime i drive my turbo gsr out on the street im paranoid as fawk about cops

I'd take a few g's over car payments anyday.

I think wrx's are god awful looking. plus the 4 door thing doesn't really pull my chain. If you want to go that route, and make payments....then save up and get an STI. Im pretty sure you will regret the WRX. Thats just a personal opinion. I've driven in a friends 350whp WRX (modified obviously). I didn't like it at all.....

yea what is with this subaru craze all of a sudden im still not big on the wrx i finally like the way it looks now and thats it but couldnt imagine gettin rid of the gsr 4 1
Get a WRX and put a Vishnu Stage 2 in it. Sti front lip, sti hood scoop, painted side skirts, JDM headlights, rims, etc and it would look badass. Well worth it. I drove my friends WRX and he has the Vishnu Stage 2. That **** is quick as hell and after a lot of tuning and more mods, he dyno'ed at 350 to the wheel.

OH YES!!! if you've ever ridden in any boosted integs (ranging from heavily built motors to bolt on turbo kitted motors) you will never regret crossing the dark side.
i know numerous former hard core all motor guys who once, after racing turboe'd teggies and getting spanked, all of a sudden cross the other side.
if you like AWD and will do some future track racing, and not just straight line...get a WRX. if you want it just for a daily driver with no track use at all...its not worth it. but thats just how i look at it. payment will be a biznatch too unless you get great financing.

get the wrx; hard decision, but id go with the scoobie. seeing how you live in md, im guessing that snow can get pretty bad down there and awd is a definite bonus in **** poor traction. wrx has more potential also; i know a guy whos worked over his daily driven wrx (not sure on precise numbers) and when he floors it off the line theres no loss of traction and he shoots off like he has a hellfire missle stuck in his exhaust pipe. you can only go so far with 1.8 liters but you could always fork over $2k, get a stroker, and up it to 2.1 liters

so are you willing to fork over all that dough for him to do all that? if that was the case, if might aswell just get an STI, it would end up being around the cost of one.....
I say either STI or EVO.....Or stick with the GSR

the more i think about it the more i want an sti or evo. I wouldnt even bother with really modding it for a while since it would be plenty fast and handle good from the dealership. If i did this i would just have to wait a bit longer before. If i did stay with a normal wrxi would probably just eventually get downpipe, uppipe, catback, ecu relash, and misc. handling mods
I would sell the teg and go with the WRX.
All that $ you put into the teg won't up the value of the car...If it gets stolen (which is highly likely with a modded GS-R), you are out all that $ you put into it, when you could be driving a brand new car with hardly any miles on it.
I've test driven the new WRX. I decided to wait a few years when they come down in price to buy one.

I was quoted $21,990 for a java black 2004 sedan with pretty much no options. the only option i want is sunroof so it shouldnt end up being too much more than that.
edit: that price was before taxes, tags, etc.
