Default Boosting bad>?

I was reading a post on ITRCA saying that the type-r was not meant to be boosted and that our cars wouldn't last as long if boosted. is this true? I've been thinking of boosting lately and this kinda changes my mind.

A search will bring up more advice on this topic than you will care to read. Feel free to email me if you'd like my opinion about the jrsc kit on my R, and I can also put you in touch with a dozen other boosted R owners.

due to the high compression of the it isnt really ideal for boost butthat doesnt mean it cant be. the only thing is that you cant alot of boost. an itr with about 5-6 pounds will create upwards of 280 at the wheelsifi remember correctly. it is a debate that go either way.

with the right tuning an itr can easily boost and be happy.

Most jrsc'd (5.5psi) TypeR's get 180-190whp with average tuning. Careful tuning with an engine management system can get 200whp. Other mods (i/h/e) will get you around 215-220whp. That's about the limit of 5.5psi of boost on the R. Tuning is absolutely critical.
