Default What do yo think about the flow of DRAG manifold for D16 ....

I was looking for the LOVEFAB SST manifold but I cant wait 3 month... So I wanted to built a logstyle manifold but I dont like all the turbulance that this style of manifold makes... and it doesnt look really good... so I saw on importparts.com the DRAG manifold, for sure this a cast manifold... but I think that those one cant crack....

So does the flow can be compare to the SST or it will be between the log style and the SST ...

Oh and does a Precicion turbo fit on this ... im almost sure...

Thank !

Mat

My favorite D-series manifold is the revhard.

ben@importparts can get those as well.

it will fit any T3 turbine housing turbo

I like mine better. For the revhard, the D manifold will probably be something close to the B manifold. You've got IM

I would go with the sst but too long delay ... yep the revhard seem to be less quality than the DRAG... I think it could be a good compromise ...

I think the Drag is the best cast manifold we got for a D,its just too bad its wastegate placement is poor so watch out for boost spike if you run a big turbo on it...I heard the rev-hards get the turbo real close to the block and some turbos hit it.I dont have that problem with my drag, plenty of room and its 4 years old and close to 40,000 miles on it.

yea the revhard puts the turbo way too close to the block. so close that i cant run an intake because of clutch slave cyl. (t04e)

the drag would fit better and make an intake possible, but the wastegate placement is just asking for spike

It's hard to tell if you will have problems, I doubt it, but with a WG placement in the center of all the runners, you have better distribution to let the spent exhaust gases out evenly rather than just robbing one cylinders exhaust.

Yep, I don't really like the location of the WG but if your new turbo is design to supprt an internal WG, just port it out and use it for your external WG and close down the one on the manifold. This is what I'm going to do, my manifold never cracked and I don't want to mess with it. Also I never had boost creep with my internal WG so I don't expect to get some by going external
