I think i have a problem; I'm a ricer... Detailed pics inside (56k, i dare you)
I can't stop polishing things. haha, I'm gettin pretty good at it though. This took me about 45 minutes including cleaning, sanding, wet sanding, and the actual polish. I made the circle's to "oval" shaped and the result was the "every thing looks fat" sort of mirror. How many of you integra guys have done this and is it rice or not?

ah yes, i forgot... Mods - delete this post, or everyone can just ignore it
so has anyone done this? I want my engine bay to be the greatest looking part of my car. Engine bay is painted flat black with abou 20 coats, Engine, tranny, and head are high temp silver, and the head is black. I need to find some pretty little pieces to polish for fun.

because i hate 56k... no other reason haha.
Here's how i went about polishing this lil piece.
First i cleaned everything with some bathroom scum remover and a rough scrub pad.
Use 220 grit sand paper in and even circular motion, then get some Criss cross straight lines in it, then go back to circular - basically go crazy but finish with the even circular motion. Do that for about 5-10 minutes or until your 220 grit sheet is dull.
Then get another piece of 220 grit, get it wet, and do the same thing and re-wet it often (every 20 seconds or so). Then after doing 5-7 minutes of that, i used 400 grit wet (same process). then I went to 1500 grit for about 10 minutes. Then I went 2000 grit wet for about 5 minutes.
Then properly clean the metal with water and a soft cotton cloth. Get that dremel out cuz its gonna be put to use. Get a polishing wheel on there (about 1" across and .25" tall). apply aluminum polish VERY generously with a cotton cloth. Then just start dremeling the polish all around until it hast he mirror shine.
Materials used:
Cotton Towel for cleaning
Scrub pad
Water
scrubbing juice
Dremel and polish wheels

Polish
Sand Paper
Let me know if you guys have any questions. Without a doubt, your first couple of projects will be time consuming. Just have at it and be patient!

i think you are kinda 2 much of a polishing tweeker. lol...i know that a lot of ice tweekers will polish anyting for a little cash and they do some pretty sick polishing jobs...lol. looks good though...u wana polish my engine parts for me?
Seriously, if anyone wants me to polish stuff for them, intakes, intercooler piping, intercooler end tanks, valve covers, intake manifolds, engine mounts, misc wire bracketry, i'd be MORE than happy to do it. It's pretty fun and entertaining for me.
thanks for all of the feedback guys. The only thing i messed up with this was when i was making the circles when sanding, i made them more oval. I believe this is what makes the reflection appear improportional (short and fat or skinny and tall).
What else should i polish guys?
