Just hook'd up a fuel pressure gauge, and the psi is...
32psi at idle with the vacuume hose connected, 42psi at idle with the vacuume hose disconnected and pinched.
This is on a stock 1st generation b16a with a cold air intake and a ITR intake manifold. however, i failed a smog pretest. HC and CO was too high. What is the stock fuel PSI suppose to be at? my helms manual says like upper 30 psi (with hose connected) and upper 40 psi (with hose disconnected) or something like that for the b17a1 motor. do I have a leak? or perhaps the ITR manifold and CAI leaned it out THAT much?
Anyway, i'm getting a B&M FPR in a day or two and I want to know what's the lowest I can set the fuel PSI to and still be safe. I wanna lower it more to pass smog. Lowering the fuel should lower the HC and CO readings.
if i still don't pass, i guess I'll get new 02 sensors and replace the cat. But i sorta want to avoid that as I am gonna turbo my car right after i pass smog so those "new" parts will be taken out anyway.

the reason you failed the somg test is not realated to the fuel pressure. i have no idea why it failed but i know for sure its not because of the fuel pressure.
actually if ur HC is too high, it means u have too much unburnt fuel.
which means i'm probably running rich (or my cat is shot, but the cat is fairly new, less thatn 10000 miles).
and if i'm running rich, it could mean my fuel pressure is too high.... but since it's only at 32psi with hose connected (which actually seems low), i doubt that's the case....
anyway, just wanted to let u know that high HC means too much fuel.... usually..

ok first off i never said anything about HC and all this other stuff you said.
anyways fuel pressure usually doesnt have an effect on the air/fuel mixture. im guessing its one of your emission control sensors like the oxygen sensor like you mentioned earlier, throtle posistion sensor, water temp sensor, mas air flow sensor, ect... i am 100% sure that the fuel pressure is the cause of high fuel to air ratio. try to see if the ecu will give you a diagonostic code on what might be the problem. i cant really help you on how to do that cause i dont have a integra, i hope you know someone that does.
i hope you fix that problem.
oh ok. BUT I did say my hc was too high, and that is why i bought a fpr to lower the fuel a bit.
i assumed u read my post when u made your post.
anyway, i will be checking other sensors IF i lower the fuel psi and i still don't pass. howver, my ecu isn't throwing any codes so the o2 sensor is the only 1 i might change out. that and a new cat.
