I think its the coil.
My girls got a 95 automatic dx right. I took her car to the store and it cut off. No loss of power, radio and everything still comes on, it cranks but it won't turn over. I pretty sure its not the battery, i have yet to test it though. I just changed the alternator so i know its not that. Now ive changed the coil on this thing twice so far and its done the samething everytime it went bad. I got a check engine light and a battery light when it happened. Now ever since i changed her timing belt its been slightly off but not enough to tear it up (just no real speed, been meaning to correct that). Anybody with a clue, please?
the starter would cause the car not to crank... so it cant be that if it cranking... id check the wiring as well make sure everything is plugged in and in connected where it needs to be...
Coils burn out for a reason- if you replaced your TEC Honda coil with an aftermarket piece of **** (usually Italian) it will burn out just because it is a piece of trash. Now, your honda coil burned out most likely because there is excessive resistance in the secondary circuit (plugs, cap, rotor, possibly wires). As resistance increases (ie: spark gap wears) the trigger voltage also increases. As more voltage is needed to cross the larger gap- more current is needed to create that voltage. This eventually overheats the coil and burns it out. If you haven't already- throw a new HONDA cap-rotor- and plugs on it- get some honda or NGK wires if you have replaced the original wires with some junk aftermarket crap, and go buy a HONDA coil. To be sure it is the coil- while cranking, check for pulsing ground at the negative terminal of the coil. If there is no pulse then your igniter is hosed (a common problem with OKI igniters).
Figured it out her timing belt split. Everything seems fine, thanks for the info fellas. As far as the coil goes that explains why i've changed it twice already.

Her timing belt split, you cranked the engine over in hopes of it starting, and nothing is damaged? Does that sound like a miracle to anyone else? I know when something similar happened to me, all valves were bent.
