Default How do you know....

This might be a very dumb question but how do you know if you need to change your car battery? Last night as I was going home, the e-brake light came on while my car was on the freeway. When I started my car today, it worked fine until I started to go. The rpm just dropped and my e-brake light came on. Then my engine stalled. The battery light came on as well as the e-brake. Does this mean I need a new battery??? Please help me because I need to get to work. Thanks.

Try charging your battery, if it happens again have your alternator checked.

The battery light, among other indicators will come on whenever the car stalls, this does not necesarilly means theres a problem with the battery..

Is your car a manual transmission?
Do you apply the e-brake when you park the car?
Does the E-brake feel tight when you lift up the handle or does it feel sloppy with alot of play?

What I am leading to is maybe the fact that your E-brake cables are frozen and when you are driving the car, the emergency brake is actually applying pressure causing a load on the motor/transmission and making the car stall..

Yeah, my car is manual transmission and I ALWAYS pull up my E-brake whenever i park. The e-brake doesn't really tight or weird. Just feels semi soft. I don't know. Its just normal I guess. The thing is I am running my stock B16A ecu. My car is running lean with the stock ecu because of the modifications. I drove the car normally for the past 3 weeks or so. Nothing really happened. Until like 3 days ago this started happening. So I tried my old Mugen Ecu which made my car run rich. The car worked fine. Didn't stall or anything. I AM REALLY CONFUSED!
