BOV that Blow off when you are idling
Hey I was trying to figure out, why do some BOV blow off at idling and some dont, say for instance my friend has a neon srt and his does but the exact same bov on an civic wont, is it because the neon srt turbo has an internal wastegate. ?????? thank you for any input
yes, Its because you both have differeny type of wastegates, i have a greddy internal wastegated turbo and it doesn't Blow off when i don't have a load on the engine, I would need an external waste gate or an "open style" wastegate. (I always get them mixed up if they are open or closed when they blow off with no load on the car) hope this helps..Joel

Its safe to see you are way off topic with your answer. Jz is totally right. Almost all cars that are factory turbocharged come with turbos that are very small and spool with no lag at all. Thats why you can hear Srt Neons and DSM's blowing off in neutral. Not to mention they are also 2 liter engines and above displacing alot more than a civic.
