Default Quick question about light weight wheels

Whats the typical weight of lets say Volk Te 37s and Or Mugen MF10s... I was told they are about 17 lbs... Centerline has a wheel that is 13lbs.. How much of a difference in performance you will see vs. Our stock lude wheels

Thanks

99'Stock base lude 16x6.5-19 lbs
Volk TE-37's 16x7.5- 11.3 lbs 17x7.5-15 lbs
Mugen is a ripoff 16.7-11 lbs 17x7.5-14 lbs

I have a set Racing Gear RG-6 16x7-16lbs , my stock rims 92' 22.5 lbs, I droped 6 lbs a rim, and I can tell the differance every winter when I put them on..

how come mugens are ripoffs? do you mean the pricing? would you go with 16 or 17s on a prelude? with WWRS lip all around? can you feel a diff. with the 4 lbs drop on the 17?

15"x7" Kosei K1 Racing 13.5 lbs

too bad you can't find any new ones with the 4x114.3 pattern.

every lb of unsprung weight is equivalent to something like 8 lbs of sprung weight so if you're dropping 16 lbs in wheel weight (unless you're running heavier tires with the new wheels) it's like losing 128 lbs from the chassis.

<<<team dynamics pro race 1, 15x7 13 lbs.

no. tires are pretty heavy (around 20 lbs). also the lower the profile, generally the heavier the tire is. kinda weird you'd think "less" material would mean lighter tires but they have to compensate for less material by putting more reinforcement.

apparently the toyo proxes are some of the lightest tires, along with some of the pirellis, and the azenis are one of the heaviest. but the grip characteristics of the azenis more than makes up for their piggy weight.
