take off the heatshield on the cat and i will almost guarantee that you won't hear that noise anymore.

you can check and see if it's loose but you may as well take it off while you are under there. YOu dont need it anyway.

trust me, you don't need it. mine started to rattle and my car is still under warranty. so i took it into the dealer to fix it, and guess what they did......took it off.

so seriously, just go take it off.

The heat sheild around the cat could be it.....or not.

I had a similar rattle around 3500 rpms. Removed the heatshield and "most" of the rattle went away.

Had it at the stealership for a timing belt change and mentioned the rattle. They heard it for 1 second and said "It's the A pipe" .

Apparently the stock exhaust has a double walled a-pipe and the inside pipe comes loose and rattles the outside pipe.

Close to $600 quoted for replacement!!!

I was like.....no thanks....I'll live with the rattle.

Is there a cheaper fix out there (besides buying an aftermarket header)......like.....drilling a hole through both pipes and welding them back together and welding the hole shut?

Just a thought.....
thanks,
g

I have the same rattle. Can't decide if I want to buy a replacement header or just live with the rattle. Seems to happen about 3250 RPM, give or take a few...
