Default 6th gen H22 accord

For those with a 98-02 H22 accord. How did you solve the problem with the drivingside engine mount/bracket. Did you replace the accord bracket with one from a prelude?

Thanks

Talk to SIGMA CHI GUY. He had a problem with the driver side mount when he installed his H22.

Ah, yes. greenli0n24 (greenlion on another board...HA, or HS, not sure) also has an H22 in his Accord. Didn't know you were a member of H-T.

I used my accord driver side mount and instead of bolting all three to the motor only two fit. I know its not the greatest but its been holding fine and i am going to eventually figure out how to get all three but with some motor mount inserts it should feel nice. Any idea who make inserts for the f23a motor mounts? Or should i get the h22a inserts?

what do you mean you only got 2 to bolt up did you add a piece to it? As for the inserts i have contacted energy suspension and they dont make them or do they plan on making them for the f23 mounts. I bought the front for the h22 mount and it still was not a good fit so it seems we are out of luck unless you get custom mounts all around and who knows what that will cost

Are you saying that both bolts by the engine/block are in, and that two out of three bolts by the chassi/engine bay is in?

If I have to custom make the braket, where do I have to go? I keep on snapping these bolts, (2 of them so far) and when they do the engine is tilted, so I have to jack the engine so that I can put in another bolt.

Thanks for the info.

all of my bolts on the chassis as bolted in only tow of the bolts going into the engine are bolted. I had to remove the plastic covers to do it but its sits level and fine.

greenlion: How much was the motor mount insert?

I think the accord really wont make a really good street machine even with an H22. But I guess I will have to do my own research what about a 97 Acura Integra Type R? Could that be what Im looking for? Im looking for a light car that is stock and decent amount of HP.

Why all the hate on this sitE????

What do you mean OT all I know is I got my ate up by a 2001 civic with basically the same mods and thats not cool. I mean like 4 car lengths I guess its cause he has a 5 speed but still. When I had my 5.0 I wasnt racing nobody they couldnt even make it a race. I hope the integra has more to offer.

Well OT means OFF TOPIC which you are most of the time, there is no hate just no tolerance for ignorant people. People on this thread are talking about engine mounts and your lad-dee da-ing about well maybe I should get an integra....thats OT. Maybe if you listened a little bit more you wouldnt look so dumb when you reply or create a thread. Just MO and that means my opinion.

Hey guys help me out here. The bolt connecting the bracket and the engine broke once again. This is the third time it happened, and it's getting enoying especially since it's getting a lot colder.

Somebody has to have or know someone with a 6th gen H22 accord, who has solved this problem.

Thanks

I just removed the plastic covers by my timing belt. Mounted the accord mount on the prelude chassis. Only toe of the three lined up i bolted them in, then mounted all three on my chassis. I havent broken anything and its been in for 2 months so i dont know how ur breaking urs.

As for the motor mount inserts i found a place who is going to custom make them. I will let u know how it goes im gonna take it to them when i take the motor out to build it.

Thanks for the info, and yes please inform me about this custom bracket.

Do you mean that you lined the accord bracket with the prelude engine?

See, what year model accord do you drive? My driverside engine bracket touching the engine has only two holes, where of which only one is working. Yeah I have broken three of those bolts (12x70 mm)
