when the valve seat or firering is installed, is it supposed to sit flush with the base of the gate or stick out 1/4" inch? just received mine in the mail yesterday, and it sticks out, is it the wrong one?

 

when u tighten it onto the manifold it will go in all the way and sit flush

im posting under my buddies name, when i tighten it, it wont go it, i even tried to use a press and push it in, could it be the wrong one?
