Okay I know that the d15 is 1.5 but it's 130ps or whatever still so is it quicker than the d16a6 or am I actually going to lose power from it?
I was told that the redline is 7000 but I was also told that it takes longer to get there so it's not as quick? anyway all the information I can get on this matter would be very appriciated(sp) I don't really care if it's just links to different post about it or if it's personal experience.
Thanks

A friend of mine does those swaps and they feel pretty peppy for what they are. I have driven a D15B SOHC VTEC and it does feel faster than the A6, which is the way it should be. I guess it would depend on what ECU u run.
I've got to say that I love mine. A good amount of power out of a small motor. No track times with it though. But I raced a buddy of mine who has a 92 Teg with a B16 with I/E and a Mugen (Type)chip walked him by like 3 cars easy. I have I/H/E w/stageII clutch and two 12's in a heavy *** box. I know thats not saying much but it made me feel pretty good.

okay sounds like it will still be fun. Before the swap I actually had a DOHC ZC in there and I liked that motor it seemed to be pretty quick so I hope I didn't down grade to much. Of course I just need this motor so I can get a job again and get my car running then I was either thinking about the XSI 170hp or the b16b motor when I get the money. htanks for the info and more would be appreciated greatly, Like I said all the info that I can get.

PS (pferdestarke) is the metric term for horsepower - PS x 0.98632 = HP

no thats not the point if you read my sig you'll see I already have the d15 in the car and it's getting finished today. I don't care what motor I should get because I already have one and when I get enough money I'm dropping a C5 in so It doesn't matter if I can find another motor cheaper and this cost me 400 shipped to my house.
do you know if that D15B vtec is smog legal? if so, how much would your friends charge, and what part of cali? i'm in spring valley(san diego)

I only paid 300 for a complete engine. It's a fun little motor.

GRRRR.... Second post where someone is posting something they don't know
. There is a SOHC ZC VTEC and its almost exactly the same as our D16z6. It comes from the WORLD MARKET 92+ Civic. The next time I install one, I'll post a pic...

I own one for two year now,
it's certain that Now that I'm boosted it feel pretty strong but before, it was nice too, like other said, I'v heaten V6 mustang, Neon, STD 91 si with d16a6, made exactly the same time as my friend with b16 on 1/8.
To get it running on the best tho you'll need a JDM P08 ecu cause this engine came with a single o2 sensor, so the little *** p28 still need two....
anyway, good engine
Kranked

I have one in my 91 dx with the p08, it's definately faster than a d16a6 si with i/h/e. I'm pleased with the swap it redlines at 7200 rpms and makes 128 hp.
The P08 and P28 ECUs are very similar. The P08 will put out a just a bit more power, but If you get the P28 chipped, or tuned in anyway, it will be just as good as the p08.
