crazy and unique like an engine block not designed for the high revving cam/head setup thats being placed on it, and will most definately blow unless you spend three times what a B18C swap costs.
yeah thats pretty crazy.

Screamincivik, I don't thing crxsi1991 was really looking for mileage. I doubt any one on this forum cares much about mileage. But you are right. That is a small fuel efficient engine.

How 'bout an LS1?
B16 is the standard B-Series swap, LS is quite common as well. B18C1 and C5 are more rare, so go for whatever works with your plans for the car. B16 won't get you into the 14's most likely unless you gut your interior (here come all the people saying they run low 14's with a stock B16 full interior on bald 13" tires with a slipping clutch and poor reaction time and no vtec
)
I have a B16 and it suits me for the time being.
turbo in the near future...
Do a search also, that's always the best solution when you have a question because there is a wealth of knowledge in past posts

If I had the money I'd go with a built b16a, high compression, with a quick spooling turbo. Not the biggest but plenty off room to rev due to the nice r/s ratio.
If I had a LOT of money to burn I'd try to pull off a dual B16a setup. I saw a dual engine Hyundai in a magizine a few years back, that despite a few mechanical issues, was still pretty sick.

Where are all the people? I have a crx gutted with one driver seat [temp. till I get my other seat fixed].. Gutted cause i got it like that I plan on putting an interior back in.. and a b16.. my friend ran constant mid-ish 15s in his camaro and I barely beat him. Where's the people claiming low 14s again? and no my clutch doesn't slip and no I don't have bald 13" tires.

I would have to say don't go with the K-series. Any B-motor has more aftermarket support. Really the only thing a K-series has on a B-series is i-vtec and .2L on a B18...And you will pay out the *** for one of those. There's all sortsa electrical gizmos, like ignition lockout without the proper key, etc. that would make for a really messy (if not impossible) swap. My opinion? H22A or B18B1 + boost. Either one will out out some really nice numbers.

First off, your freshman english professor called. Apparently there was a mistake and you actually failed their class. Please return your diploma at the earliest possible convienence.
Second, here's a decent engine breakdown:
