question about parking lights
maybe when the water pump was replaced, the switch was broken in the process. did you take it to a mechanic to have the pump replaced? the mechanic could've been the culprit. or maybe a there's a short in the system. this is unlikely though.

What kind of car btw??
1. So when the engine is off and you pull the parking brake the red lights stay on?
Will they stay on if you don't use the park brake (provided its an auto of course)
2. While the engine is on are the parking lights also still on??
3. When you push the brake do the lights come on?? Or are the parking lights just always on??
4. Do all the other lights work correctly?? ( ie reverse, high mount light, turn signals,...)
Don't really know just yet what the prob could be, buuuuuut sounds like it could possibly be a ground problem...i'm just guessing on that 1 since i don't have any specific info just yet hahah

OK hmm this is a stumper, but lets try some things
1. Get some alligator clips from a radio shack or something nothing in particular just some regular clips(smaller is usually better, not super small though)
2. Then go to the trunk, remove the black lid (might be a diff color) that has the parking lights in it
3. Now go to the parking light connector (thing the bulb is connected to) you'll see a black wire going into the connector.
4. Now I don't know for sure what is wrong, but we can try and eliminate some of the things that aren't the problem.
5. Now take out the parking brake bulb there should be a black wire going into the connector
6. This black wire should have a copper terminal that creates a ground for the bulb
7. Take your alligator clip and attach it to the copper terminal of the black wire. Then attach the other end of the clip to a metal part of the car, doesn't really matter where. This will give you a "new" ground for the bulb *note: if the alligator clip doesn't fit then get a paperclip and stick it into the copper terminal use tape or something to kepp it in place so u can test it out don't forget to put that paperclip on a metal piece of the car after u attached it to the copper terminal...
8. If the brake lights go out then problem solved else imma have u try something different
