NX question...
Thinking about running a Nitrous Express kit on my 98 lude. only problem is, my car is SS, and I heard the tranny can't hold a regular 55 shot, only the 35 shot even with colder plugs. I was wondering it if would even be worth it to try and use a 55 shot in my lude. I dont think it would be worth the cost to shoot a 35 for almost a grand with all accessories I would purchase. Lemme know what you think. Thanks - Matt
Believe me, If i had the money to replace my tranny, I would have done a 5 speed swap already. see its not that, its cause i wouldn't have any other money available to me. no rebuilds or anything. so if my engine went, my car goes... i'm only 16 and i'm not working right now, only during summer. and even then i'm only making $7.50 an hour so its hard to pay for expensive stuff... But if the 35 gives you that good of a gain, i think i might just go for it. u think the 35 shot will hold up on my auto?
if i were you i would either do a 5spd swap or spend the grand on a good header. i feel that the constant power gain of a header would be gentler on the tranny then the wham of N2O. its the same thing as me having to spend 600 on a new clutch and flywheel for my setup. it just wont handle it. granted we are talking about way different amounts of N2O but still its the same concept.
but thats just my .02
but thats just my .02
I heard that headers don't really help all that much performance wise for 2 reasons. 1) the stock prelude headers are very close in diameter to those of aftermaket ones, making the gains extremely minimal. and 2) it only helps with the high end, and completely takes away from the low end torque. I dunno bout you guys, but my intake and exhaust alone have already destroyed my low end power, you think headers would really help all that much more? I mean if I could find some decent gains, then I might do it. How do they sound btw? different headers that is.

I have a used (10 PASSES ) NX kit for 500 with warmer. and a used (26K miles) Auto tranny you can buy for $400. (NOT damaged) Total.. $900. THere, you're good for a while!
No kidding. I have these things for sale. (Got the Auto in a deal for the 2.2 V-tec I bought)
I'm new here. If I just messed up the rules by posting something for sale, I'm sorry. I was just making a relative cost satement.
