tranny help plz
ok so my SI tranny **** and pops out of 2nd gear. so ima going to get a new tranny. i have looks for ever and no1 has SI trannys only dx. would it be realllly bad to get a dx tranny...i mean i need something. right now i cant use 2nd gear at all

get the damn Dx and put the Diff of your Si tranny in there, you'll got an Si tranny that way. If you cant do it yourself have a tranny shop do it, I don't think they will charge you 200 $, maybe 100 axtra for swapping over the diff.

you can swap the final drive only but it's more trouble IMO, you have to get it off the SI diff and swapping in on the other diff, just put the diff out if your old ( unless the little pin that always broke first in 4Gen tranny diff seem's phoked up). It's all a mather of part's condition, take the diff that is best shaped, tho, the SI final drive must absolutly go in the DX tranny to get the final ratio of this one...

you can swap the final drive only but it's more trouble IMO, you have to get it off the SI diff and swapping in on the other diff, just put the diff out if your old ( unless the little pin that always broke first in 4Gen tranny diff seem's phoked up). It's all a mather of part's condition, take the diff that is best shaped, tho, the SI final drive must absolutly go in the DX tranny to get the final ratio of this one...

u can not just swap the differentials
the DX trannys have smaller bearings the Si diff wont fit the DX casing...
all u basically have to swap is the final drive of the diff into the DX one and along with that the countershaft also has to be swapped (final drive is the countershaft and the diff ring)

Damn, Sorry guy's, didn't know that the bearing size was different on the DX trans... to my thought it was all the same
