Fastbrakes scaling back on new kits...
As much as I'd like to continue to create new kits for everyone, the financial realities of making so many different products is pretty staggering. I have just been told that the new 12.2" Wilwood kits are now being shipped by the large wholesalers for as little as $600. If you have 16" wheels on your car this would be the kit to get. Unfortunately for me, they just took away a kit I am about ready to introduce.
This also brings me to the 11.75" kit, as Wilwood most certainly will offer that same kit to fit under the 15" wheels.
What I will be doing is continuing to service those of you who want to keep the 15" wheels on your cars and want inexpensive upgraded brakes that fit under them. I will probably re-focus my brakes on the use of stock style rotors, using either stock or the 4 piston calipers.
I will continue to work on some other projects such as the 2 piece rear rotors as time and funding permits, but for now I have to focus on getting products to market that no one else wants to make.
Thanks for your continued support

Hey since you know so much about brakes, I need to ask you a question? I've got a 97 Civic Hatch/B18B. I ordered the Brembo OE rotors, metal axis pads, Goodridge stainless lines and Lima GT fluid. The braking felt only "slightly" better than stock
Is there an inexpensive solution to my lame *** brakes? Thanks

Actually it's 0.8
and yes it really does. The main differerence is the thicker rotor can absorb more heat before they transfer that to the pads and calipers. The larger rotor also allows more leverage to be exerted over the rotating mass, which allows the brakes to slow the car down easier. The ITR uses the same basic system and they have excellent brakes from the factory.

What about a rear disc conversion kit for us 6g civic guys that got jipped for drums. All new parts so they don't have to scrabble for this part and that part at a junkyard. I guess something that would be about 10"-11" and still fit under a 15" wheel. I think the only aftermarket kit out there like that is the AEM but you still need 16" wheels. Correct me if I'm wrong. Just a thought. How hard would something like that be? How much would it cost?
I have an 11" rotor kit that uses a 4 piston caliper for the Teg. I'm trying to bring that kit to market for less than $580.
Hey Brian....I've been trying to e-mail you <bchang@indiana.edu> to order the front and rear 11" kits for use with the ITR calipers on my GenIII GS-R.
Oops...my bad. I've been trying to e-mail < fastbrakes@hotmail.com > which isn't the e-mail listed in your profile. I resent the e-mail and hopefully you got it.
If anyone wants to use the new Wilwood kit with their 15" wheels you can bolt on their 11.75" rotors. I can supply the brackets to use the calipers they provide and brake line adapters(or the braided lines). I can do that for $75.
So you can put the 11.75" brakes on your Teg for approx $700. This is a good buy...

Going to a niche is where the money is at, depending on the niche.
I'm not ready for your services yet, but in a year or so, yes.
Maybe you can make 2-piece rotors (aluminum hats, too?) for the Wilwood kits as improvements?

so are you still selling 11" rotors with the you said accord v6 calipers for around $300? I was going to send my order in for that tomorrow....i hope you do
I'm sorry to hear about all the problems as well, I'm sure lots of people appreciate your research efforts and all the information you've provided the honda community about brake upgrades.
Thanks, I'll try to keep developing kits for the cars as long as I can make a few $ for my efforts. I can always do custom kits if there are enough people interested, such as the 11.75 kit...
