I have a b16a sir 2 in my civic it has ran fine for about 3 years. about a year ago i started noticing that at higher rpms about 5 or 6 my rpms would start bouncing around, but no power loss. the situation has only gotten worse somtimes at high rpms the car severely miss fires rpm will drop to and bounce back. even under normal driving conditions the rpm will just drop to and back up the car will seem like its dying. there has been no codes at all. i have been told by a couple of mechanics to try a new distributor or tach and even fuel pressure. i have installed a new tach and checked fuel they are all fine. new wires cap rotor spark plugs all still the same. now i dont want to buy a new distributor if i dont have to if anybody has any suggestions please email or post it would be greatly appreciated.

check your fuel pump, fuel pressure, injetors pulse, clog injetors.

 

well... i had the same problem last week, i replaced the bypass hose, and it worked out for me... but problems like this can be caused by just about anything...

 

check your coil
