Default Using Propane As Fuel On Nitrous Wet-Setup?

I was browsing another board when I saw the idea of replacing the fuel line on a wet nitrous kit w/ a propane line. This would make for a higher-octane fuel....how else would this setup improve things?

My friend runs it on his Supra. I'll ask him how he has it setup. I know he got the idea/setup instructions from some other high hp Supra owners, so it definitely isn't unique to diesel.

I know that on diesels it allows for a huge power increase b/c it allows the diesel to fully combust, and in hi-po cars it acts as a buffer for detonation since it's 110 octane....

But I would like to see if running straight propane to the fogger in a wetsetup would be a great/stupid idea.....instead of using a separate propane line as a supplement to kick in, this is a nitrous-only app. where the propane replaces the fuel line.....

I dunno, it's late, I can't think straight.....just thinkin a bit

There are quite a few people who replace the fuel side of a wet kit with propane. Propane has a octane rating of 110 this is like injection race fuel and nitrous at the same time. You get the safety factor of higher octane from the propane and the power from the nitrous. I have propane injection without the nitrous setup. I use this to run higher boost safely. Propane injection rocks I love having 110 octane all the time and not have to worry about the price of race fuel. I run a 5lb bottle for the propane it lasts months and only cost 3.00 to fill. If you are looking for more technical info about propane injection check out http://www.H20injection.com tons of information about propane injection and water injection.

So do you think that runnin the propane would make me run much richer? Would be tuning be a lot harder or different?

Propane will richen you up but you have to adjust the amount that is injected to get just the right amount. Running propane and nitrous you will see some huge gains. There are several different kinda propane kits each kit has different lines and setups.

Maybe it's just me, but something about running "straight" propane doesn't sound right to me. I would run the fuel/nitrous, with the propane injection...but not propane by itself.

Just my $0.02.

Why not? what does not sound right about it?

propane is a gas and so is gasoline, propane has a much higher octane rating that pump gas what does not sound right about it?

Read this post I explain the idea a little better

My buddy has an econoline(parents run a bed and breakfast and use it to shuttle people) that they converted to propane during the gas crisis of the 80s... It's just silly when he has to get gas

Did you buy the whole kit somewhere or you put the kit together by yourself? I'm thinking of using this once I turbocharge my car. Propane is great, it's not only richen your FI engine, but it also cool the air too. Thanks!!

Tuning is just like tuning for nitrous. You tune how much propane you get using jets like nitrous jets. For line you usually use braided stainless. I just bought an OGS kit today that i'm planning on using on my mustang, I want to crank up the boost on pump gas.

Just for nitrous enrichment the importpoweronline kit would do you good, you just have to add a bottle. Get rid of the hobbs switch and run the power to the same WOT switch and window switch that you're running the nitrous off of and you're good to go.

sweet. Now would i be replacing the NitrousExpress fuel solenoid completely with the propane solenoid, or would i still be using some regular 93 fuel in conjunction w/ the propane when on the bottle. i'm still a little confused as to how everything gets hooked up and the fuel source.
