Default 2.0 Liter stroke kit from Spoon

I have an extra B16A block and I have some extra cash to have fun with so I'm thinking of stroking it out with the 2 Liter Spoon kit. Has anyone done this or heard any experiences with this? The only experience I have of this was watching the Spoon Civic on Speedvision keeping up with the AWD Turbo Euro cars, impressive.

if you stroke the b16 to 2.0L, you better get some custom grind cams, seeing as how the stock b16 cams and all aftermarket ones for that matter, are designed to make power in the high high rpm range. Stroking the engine, especially stroking it to 2.0L, will make it very unstable to rev high. say goodbye to that 8200 rev limit and reset it to around 7500 or so.

Man that chit is CHEAP!!! What kind of machine work has to be done if any? Is there any valve/piston issues with such a big stroke? Just wondering, that is pretty cool though, i'd give 'er a go

i'd go for it, not many peole have one, and if you do decide to do that post some pics up of the install, i think a stroked B16 would be pimp IMHO, oh and i dont think much if any machine work would be needed except like maybe a block resurface and bore honing, and personally i think spoon would include anything needed to do the stroker<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by racerxadam &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

Post this in the all motor forum you will get a better response. I thought the spoon kit turned it into a 1.8. (Actually I didn't even think they made a kit, I thought it was Toda) I woulld think it would require some extensive machine work, you will be replacing the crank rods and pistons. I would think the bore would also have to be changed, I know that the stroke will have to be increased to get anywhere near that displacment out of a B16. I have a punched out GSR being built and it is just bairly under the 2.0 mark with 84.5mm pistons in it.

all motor parts from spoon are made by toda ... stroked motors dont last long ... since parts labor and machining would add up. with that extra cash u have get urself an ITR motor or a gsr with bolt ons ...

Seems like it would be cheaper and easier to just do a CRVTEC swap.

Default 2.0 Liter stroke kit from Spoon

why would spoon have toda make their parts.....B20 Vtec would cost more to make it kosher with Vtec since the pistons will hit the valves and the ***** not made to rev fast...that and the block tapping for the oil line blah blah blah, the spoon kit is to 2.0 not 1.8 and i say buy 2 and i'll do it too, ya heard!

Hmmmm ls crank and rods in a b16 block...And what do you do when the pistons are at tdc and sticking out of the block Yes you can use a ls crank and remove the oil squirters. You will need custom pistons with raised pins and custom rods.
