Check out http://home.cinci.rr.com/mistab0ne/tranny.html

You should be at 2650 at 60mph and 3533 at 80mph with an EX tranny.

However, with the inaccuracy of stock tachs, I think still could be an EX tranny.

70 should be in the 3k range. 2700 sonds like a dx tranny. a cx/vx tranny would only be at about 2300.

Right around the fill plug on the tranny. I think it's a little above it but I can't remember.

the tach is mostlikely way off....usually 10-15% if not more!

tach and/or speedo is off.

DX tranny, 3000 rpm = 72 mph on the speedo MY car.........

real speed = 71.15 mph

2700 rpm in CX/VX tranny would be 80 mph.

A small mirror would make it easy to see.

It also depends on the tire size.

wrong there..........

The tranny/VSS/speedo will never know what size tire is on the car.

is there a test you can do to test if the tack/speedo is getting correct about of amperage/volts?

Also where can i find that tranny code?

I though that the smaller tires you have the faster you accelerate but with less top speed due to the diameter of the rims/tires.
The car has 14 optional allow with some 195/55/14 on if that mattered.

70 mph in 5th puts me at like 2900rpm. 80 is at like 3400.

Yep your right, it will affect the actual speed of the car though.

Just crawl up under the car and check. You should'nt have gotten into this whole car scene if you did'nt want to get a little dirty every now and then.

This is only true if you were to measure the speed with an external meter, like RADAR. It will not affect the speedo in relation to the tach.
