I have a Tial wastegate with a 9lbs. spring. If I run no boost controller how much PSI loss will I get? Friends tell me after all that compressed air travels through the intercooler to the throttle body i'd have about 1.5-2lbs. loss. Is this true?

 

it depends really.

if you run the wastegates vac source off the turbo, then yes, its possible, depending on how efficient your IC is to pressure drop, you could lose some PSI.

if you ran it off the Intake Manifold, then most likely you'll see the actual spring rate, now there are plus and minus things about doing one or the other, if you run it off the Intake Manifold, and say u blow a charge pipe off, if you see there and floor it, the turbo will over spool because the wastegate will never open, i ran my vac source off my wastegate, and have done it on numerous cars w/ no problems.
