I would think left side would be driver's side, right is passenger's side.
It should only be attatched with one of three things: screw, tabs, or a clip of some kind. Should'nt be a problem at all to fix. and yes your's is the Palmy blue.

palmy blue sounds right
and you just need to hit the junk yard and replace the whole door handle.. no need itn trying to take something so little apart..
if you had a 94-97 i had a few extra door handles here

thanks for the replies guys. palmy blue sounds sort of....gay? i thought it was navy blue. but either way, i need to get a left side one it sounds like.
Those are very easy to replace. Just need a screwdriver and a pin-nose pliers. I've done both DS and PS on my '90. Never bothered to get new ones, just used some PVC sealant (the stuff they use for welding plastic plumbing pipe) to fix the cracks. They look good as new if you do a good job fitting the pieces back together. If you want, you can also put some epoxy behind the plastic to reinforce it since the new ones will break again too at some point.
i guess i dont have to replace it, but i dont like things broken on my car. and it seems the inside door handle now is a little loose because of it. i dunno, maybe i'll just leave it.

Don't just leave it because when it gets really bad (yes, it will get worse if you don't do something about it), you can't open the door from inside. That's becuase the plastic frame holds a big-**** spring on the back of it that keeps the latch closed. That same spring is what causes the stress on the thing and breaks it eventually as you're seeing now.
It's a quick/cheap/easy fix, so do yourself a favor and fix it while you can.
