Oil return line fitting hitting crankshaft?

Default Oil return line fitting hitting crankshaft?

If i have a fitting that is at the very top of my D16z6 oil pan and protruding into it about an inch will it hit my crankshaft at all?

Why not just cut off the part that sticks inside the pan?

Yup, just did that today. Wasn't too bad on a vertical band saw but would have sucked to do it by hand
