I am starting to see a lot of rusty spots on older 3rd gen integras. just like the crx's. is this a common problem in the snow states?

 

yep, just searched it. rust is an issue. I thought that the early 90's saw the end of the unprotected metal under the paint and primer. o well.

 

yup, very very very common problem, not only on tegs but all hondas. I work at a body shop and see tons of it here in central NY

 

i think it depends on what ocnditions you use the car and how well its maintained. My 95 is rust free thus far. The only rusting that i see are in the bolts on the control arms, trail arms and other parts of the suspension. This i know is true of all honda's.

I got rust on my hood pretty bad That can be blamed on a bad prior paintjob from the previouse owner and him not washing it hardly. Getting a paintjob hopefully this week and I'll keep it clean.

 

If you have the rubber things on the inside of your rear wheel wells take them out NOW! The just slid off! They hold in road salt and grime and thats 90% of what makes hondas rust in the quarter panels!! Believe me I had a 97 civic in NY for 4 years and it rusted a little under the hood and doors but NONE in the quarters!

 

here they use rocks and some kinda chemical that dont rust the cars
