Tuning
My 88 crx with mpfi zc dohc is having problems in the cold...When I start it up, it seems like it's not geting enough fuel...When I step on the gas quick and put the pedal to the floor it sounds like a transport or I'm doin 10 mph in 5th gear....it sounds like it's struggling for air or fuel...once it warms up i can press the gas quick and the rpm's shoot up like the should. it would start today, I let it sit and there she went started up fine... I was wondering if anybody has ran into this problem before and what they did to fix it. I'm gonna do the tune up. but before I drop the time and money I thought you guys might have some advice... Also there is oil on top of my spark plug, do I need a new valve cover and does this have to do with my
problem....
Any info would be great
Thanx Kyle

i have sort of the same problem....
what im going to do is change the fuel filter since i havent done it on this car for over 100,000 kms..
i also had the problem of finding oil on the spark plugs a while back. my motor was struggling and not firing in one of the cylinders... what i did was replace all 4 spark plug gaskets and the valve cover gasket while im at it. also spent a few bucks getting 4 new spark plugs. this easy fix seemed to clear that problem.
now about 80,000kms after that time, im due for a tune up including my fuel filter as i mentioned.
hope that helps

Check out the oxygen sensor. In my old Golf, I installed a non-heated o2 into the aftermarket header and until it warmed up it idles erratic and was gutless. After warm-up tho' watch out!
check out http://www.autotap.com, they have some good info on o2 sensors, how to troubleshoot and how they work.

how about the inlet temp-probe sitting on the intake manifold. Had some problems with mine. you can measure it with a ohm-meter. it should be 0-4kohm i think. I am not sure about the values. long time ago. My zc went really lean when the wheater where hot, and the car wherer standing in the sun all day. I started the engine buy holding over the intake to choke the engine. it worked, bur it was hurting my hand a lot. That engine can suck : ) . I also used the grid that are over my speakers in my car to choke the engine the secound time i had to start in a sunny day. have changed the temperatur probe know.
the engine workes good.
