after searching my old imagestation i found these pics of the hod right out of the box...as you can see the top is some sort of carbon weave..and the bottom is fiberglass that has been autoclaved....

I don't really see a difference in top and bottom.. is it heavy?

 

Isn't a good quality hood made entirely of carbon fiber?

really good laminated stuff is autoclaved period.
it is some hybrid of materials that is molded under pressure or vacuum (whatever is needed) to make one really strong and light hood.

most companies hand lay stuff to keep costs down (autoclaves are usually million dollar machines that are bigger than school buses).

so..hands down..is the best quality hood.

but 300 dollar hood would accomplish the same job.

 

as if CF hoods werent a waste already, then you have the MUGEN peice

 

the main reason i like the design is because it is a whole package bumper and hood.

so a wind tunnel designed and tested hood and bumper that can get rid of heat better than a stock parts and also shed some wieght from the front of a nose heavy car allready?? ill buy it.

Good Carbon hoods dont have to have a carbon bottom. I had a DG Motorsports hood, and i will contest that it will stand up with ANY carbon hood made. The 1st models like i had were made with a fiberglass Skeleton. Newer versions were made full carbon

1rst question: does the pic of your car outside MOB (i believe) show added clear coat to the hood, it looks much shinier than others ive seen??

2nd question: do all of the hood have the logo embedded, there has been argument that some did not??

3rd question: why do you have some sick style?? lol...

just some things i was wondering... props on the car as usual. the first time i saw it at the Aliso Niguel car show (no joke) i was dumbfounded!

yes..the paint has been cleared like a ****..much props to miggy and the mobworks crew!

all hoods or products from mugen will have the emblem and part/serial number if it hasnt allready been painted over..

and as far as my style....i just bought the parts and slapped it on...i had no real forsight the bronze and black would look as good as it does..i think when you build a car that really functions, it cant help but look cool
