*Second Owner: One month in 2003: A man who drove the car less than one-hundred miles and sold it because his family chose to purchase land and therefore needed to sell the car.
*Third Owner: Three months in 2003: A very mature senior who absolutely babied the car, never taking the engine above 4500rpms. The car was always well maintained, always had a fresh coat of wax on, and made sure the car was always clean. The car was given a few minutes every time to cool down in addition to not riding it hard for the last few miles. Also, every time the car was parked for the night, the hood was popped.
Car Condition:
*Currently, the car is still in the garage having the turbo being installed on the car
*The interior is in phenomenal condition
*The exterior is in phenomenal condition. The only flaw in the paint is a small chip in the front right part of the bumper and the passenger mirror is a little more dull than the other mirror.
Seller Information: Louis Matthews 703-903-9458 in McLean, Virginia (a few miles outside Washington D.C.)
Price: $14,000 which is very reasonable considering price, modifications and previous owner history

Tt pains me to let go of it, but the more i think about it, its just too much of a car for a kid to drive! However, when the weather is warm, you've got a cute girl in the seat next to you (which is often), and the turbos are singing at full volume... there's just nothing like it!
Bump for a sweet 3rd gen. have you ever got the compression checked? for $14k and 105k miles compression numbers would be very imporant in selling your car.
But anyway nice car at a nice price.

To be honest with you, the problems are definately over blown. When you always hear that the engines blow every ten thousand miles, that only happens on 500+whp cars which you have to expect all the time. I know many RX-7s which are on the high hundred thousand miles with the original engine (180k and still tickin!) while there are some second generations with 250k miles on the original engine... Anyway, the horror stories you hear are based on one thing: tuning. Improperly tuned cars blow engines... its as simple as that. If you take care of the car, and have the car properly tuned, you're good to go and your engine will last forever. Too many people plop on a 450+hp turbo kit w/o upgrading the computer and this happens. The car is absolutely gorgeous and I've never had any serious problems!
LouisM is right. Rx7 arent as unrealiable as people say as long as you take care of the car. But you can bet your *** if you ignore normal maintance (esp. keeping oil in it!) you should be preforming its not gonna last you long.
My rx7 has 180k miles and still pulling strong.

A couple big things:
1) always make sure you always have full oil in the car... because the engine burns oil which many people don't know (all rotaries are like this)
2) change the fuel filter, takes about an hour, so no one ever does it for the entire cycle of the car.... mine has been done numerous times
3) always put 91 or better gas in... i always put 93
4) let the car cool down... i always let it sit for a few minutes after i'm done and always take it easy a few miles before I stop
Do these things and you've got yourself a bulletproof supercar!

The primary turbo went out, which is the one that is always on... this one is the turbo which always goes first because it is simply used more than the other. the primary needed rebuilding, but I decided to get both rebuilt, with all new seals added by one of the top turbo rebuilders in the area, Tim's Turbos. He works on only turbos and is busy 24/7... shows how top notch is work is!
Actually I've seen no trolls here... I've always found HT to be one of the more civilized forums on the net... no "HAY GUYS DO U KNOW WH3RE I CAN GET A MAD TIGHT BODY KIT FOR MAH HONDA CIVIC WIT ALT3ZAS?!!?!?! OMG LOL"... thanks guys for your support... I really want this to go to a loving home
I actually said that I was proud of this place for not having any trolls that I have seen... that was a complement! Whats your user name on nopistons... although I don't visit there almost at all... RX7CLUB for me!
Louis - Hey, you want your car to go to a loving home, right? Well, that is something I can give it, and I'll definately let her stretch her legs every weekend at the autocross. I promise to wash and wax her every week and keep her in my garage. And where I live she'll never get roughed up or stolen. The perfect home.
Now if you want to sell it for Love + $8,000 then we might have a deal!

I own a rx-7 myself and they are VERY fun cars to drive. I wouldn't say the car is unreliable, its just high maintanence. Lots of people who own the car just don't take care of it properly. Good luck selling
