Default DIY door panels.

I got these done a couple nights ago and i just bought a new camera tonight so i decided to take some pics of the door panels. Also i did the hatch cover cause it was stained to hell and patches of carpet were missing. total cost of doing this was $11. got the clothe from Joanne's Fabric. and i used spray adheasive. looks better than the dirty stock panels. let me know what you think. Camera used is a Sony Cybershot DSC P92 5MP

yeah, not half bad.

care to do a writeup on how its done?
mainly how you got such a nice fit?

did u just go over the current paneling?
or did you take off the old cloth material and replace it with new?, and howd u get it to fit so nice?

but yeh.. not feelin the color scheme,
or all the armorall on ur rear seats.

but yo, still, mad props.

well the whole sceme for the car is red and black. I covered the panels and speaker covers cause they were horrible looking. and the seats are not armoraled. i just finished spraying them with a fresh coat of Vinyl spraypaint since the seats were fading back to there ugly original navy color.

what you need
Fabric of choice
something to pull the plastic rivets out i used a die grinder
1/2 inch screws with washers to put panel back on
hair dryer
spray adhesive
some sort of roller (i used the wooder rooler that you use to install dynamat)
scissors

1st remove the door panels
2nd i used a die grinder with a cutting blade to take of the plastic rivets.
3rd i used a lil water and hairdryer to pull up all the old material off the door panels
4th wash the fiberglass panel down really good and i used a lil alcohol to get rid of any kind of grease.
5th let them dry for about a 1/2 hour
6th lay the panel part on the fabric and leave about 2 inches all the way around (you need it for the dips and curves of the panel)
7th spray the adhesive on the panek and make sure you get every inch or ull be doing this all over again.
8th lay the fabric over the panel and be sure that its sqaured off like when u cut it.
9th take the roller and start working it all over the panel some corners are tough i just used my finger to push them into place.
10th spray adheasive on the back of the panel
11th take the remaining fabric and tuck it around (do not pull hard or it will pull the fabric that u just pressed into place)
12th take the screws and washers and carefully drill the fiberglass panel back to the door panel assembly.
13th snap the door back into place and replace the plastic door pieces.

I did the same thing to my DC2 door panels. The red looks awsome at first, but after only one summer they are really faded. I am going to re-do them in a black fabric. Anyone know where I can get the fabric that comes on ITR door panels?

if you guys know hondahookup.com, go in the teg forum and the mod there named DOC makes these panels and sells them finishied and also sells quality materials. Forget exactly what he does but I know it has something to do with this.

Good job on your though
