RS and LS
okay... question.
I'm looking to buy an Integra. I found two 94 tegs for sale in my area, one is RS and the other LS. Im not 100% sure, but their engines are the same.. no? Yet when went to check them out; the LS was selling for almost 5000 and the RS for about 3000. Why is there such a gap between the two?
Please do not waste space telling me to use the search, because i have, maybe i dont know what im looking for?

that's it? optional equipment is adding $2000? on a used car? I had no idea.
I do enjoy a nice power window and lock now and then, but I enjoy an extra $2000 a lot also. Decisions decisions....

dont be surpirsed if you buy the ls and then later find yourself installing RS non-power locks to deter theft. talk the RS down to 2500 and buy it. You could have a stock sunroof installed for WAY less than 2k.
the price also depending on the condition of the car and on the seller. also, yeah, what he said about removing the locks later on to deter theft. its up to you.
I've got a '97 RS and I think it's great. I had a GS before this, and I really don't miss the moonroof or cruise control. Personally, I think it looks better without the moonroof...seems like every car today has one and Teg's without them look good. It didn't come with power locks, but the previous owner had an alarm installed (not an OEM one either) with power locks connected to the alarm. Got the best of both worlds. One thing I do have to say though, is that the RS has less sound-dampening material, which makes it lighter, but also a but louder. You should inspect them both and test drive them to see what you like better...and $2000 is a lot more to be paying for an LS vs. an RS if they're both in relatively the same condition.
power locks are easier to break into? Really... interesting.
Well, the whole integra thing isn't 100%, but if i were sure about an integra i think im now leaning towards the RS..
Thanks a bunch everyone!

I have AC but don't have ABS.

Yup.
Were both of the cars in similar condition, and had similar mileage???

but is there a down side to ABS i can't think of?
Edit: What's the bolt pattern on the wheels?</TD></TR></TABLE>
downside to abs...yeah, you stop slower
bolt patter is 4 lug for all integras except the itr
id buy the rs and save the 2k if the milage is similar.

My RS has pwr locks, windows, AC, came with a factory CD player, so now that i think about it, im not really sure if it is an RS. Maybe its and LS. What other distinguishing features do the two models have?

How ever once the theif is in the car he can just open the other door because if you have power locks the theif only needs to turn one door to open all. So what's the big lower theft risk in that perspective?

I dont understand how you stop slower with ABS. Most drivers (non professionals) do not know how to efficiently use their brakes properly, so ABS is a big help. (not getting into a big discussion about it)
As for me, I wanted a daily driver, will all the comforts, so the LS was important to me... what fits your budget, and what are you looking to get out of a car?

abs is only help because people think that slaming on their brakes will stop themselves faster...so it makes it so the brakes dont lock and pumps back instead. if you know how to use regular brakes they can be a lot more effective.
