i just read today that someone was hearing rumors about honda bringing back the prelude....have any of you guys heard anything!?!? doesnt sound true to me....since they just stoped production in 01'....what do you guys think!?

i was just wondering about all this...

 

They will never bring the prelude back, as long as their is a S2000 and a accord coup 6sd in the line up.. Their is no need too.

 

so sadly true. they should axe the V6 accord and make a RWD v6 lude. (dohc though). siiiiiick.

 

why would they bring back a car that never sold that well to being with?

No it will never come back

The only circumstance where they might bring it back is if they wanted to have a rwd 4 seater which I don't believe they offer in any market. I doubt this will happen, but you never know.

 

It'll show up right after the Skunk2 IM is released.

I doubt Honda will EVER make another RWD besides the S2000 and NSX.

And Yes, the Prelude is never coming back. It never sold well (too expensive for what you got). The Accord coupe is it's replacement.

Oh well...I am just happy to have mine.

 

The day Honda comes out with a new lude is the day honda produces a factory turbocharged car. Sad but true.

i say its a good thing cause it makes the lude a rare car...compare to civics and tegs

 

The Prelude was always a test bitch for new ideas on regular cars.

ie: 4 wheels steering... VTEC other than the NSX... etc etc.

They may bring it back if they want to test out something else more radical.

Thats what im saying, if honda ever decides to lay off the economical side, im sure they would bring it back with some nice power.

wasn't the honda City turbo'd? one of their little little cars in jp is boosted i know

anyway, i am perfectly content with the amount of ludes around. i like knowing that i'm less common than a civic or teg. "what kind of honda is that?" they ask.

 

yea they made a couple turbo cars never made it here the were always weak too

then it may be sooner than we all think if this is the case..... by 2007 all new cars will be equipped with a 42 volt optical wiring system. part of OBD3, which is regulated by the federal government. so, if the Prelude really is the test bitch for all new things, then perhaps, it'll come out sooner than we all think

 

Sorry to say, but I think the Prelude is dead and not going to be made again
