I'm not sure about choosing bearings for my block. HELP!(fat ass pic 56k killer!)
Ok there seems to be a few people in the FI with real experience so that's why I'm asking here. I just got my LS crank and there are alot of numbers and letters on it, and I'm not 100% sure about all of them. Before you say it, I do have a Helms manual and I have looked in it and not every figure on the crank is identified.
Is the "4" on the pulley end of the crank the number of the main jurnal or is it just a random number like the "7" in the middle of the crank. The "B" with "1" under it, I'm pretty sure the B is for the rod journal size, is the "1" the main jurnal size or is it the four under it?? Here is a fat *** pic to help you out!
by the way my block stamp is B-C-B-C-B.

your Main Bearing color code would be, from crank pulley to flywheel
B1 C2 B2 C2 B2
Rod would be (the number depends on your rod ends)
B B B B
hope this helps

So the first main bearing is B1 not B4?? Does anyone know what all the other numbers mean??? thanx for the help Flamenco
it is B1, the other number that are casted are usually just to denote the crank for ID purpose only..the actualy clearance and specs are etched in.
