Default fuel rail questions...

I searched through soooo many previous threads but didn't really find an answer. I came across this statement though:
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by NXLude &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">....A new fuel rail is pretty and also nice to have when running nitrous lines and fuel guage senders</TD></TR></TABLE>

Can someone elaborate on this more. When I install my SPA electric fuel pressure gauge does the sender plug right into the fuel rail...why would an aftermarket fuel rail make this easier? I have a jdm b16a w/ 35shot NX wet kit. What does my nitrous lines have to with the fuel rail (if its not direct port)...besides that nitrous is FI and less restriction is always a plus.

What is the difference between companies when it comes to fuel rails? Does engineering actually go into any of them or are they just basically all the same design with larger diameters than OEM?

Lastly, who makes the "best" fuel rail and why is it better than the others.

thanks for the info.

Well and after market fuel rail makes it easier to hook up a fuel pressure gauge since most of the time the new rail has a port on the opposite site from the fuel supply. Therefore it just threads into one side or may require some sort of fittings. As far as your gauge with the sending unit, it should follow this same method.
Now for the nitrous lines. Obviously if you are running a wet kit you need to supply fuel to the nozzle somehow. If you are using a stock fuel rail then you have tee off the fuel line. If you have the aftermarket rail hen the same end where you put the fuel gauge is used to un a fuel line to your nitrous nozzle.
Not all fuel rails are created equal. Some aftermarket rails have the same bore as the stock rail and will not help with fuel supply. My preference is AEM over STR, b/c if I remeber correctly when I was shopping the STRs bore is that big. Also Aem has baffling kits to cut down on fuel surging but for an extra price. The only other big name I can think of is GE and I have no experience with them.

I've narrowed it down to STR and Golden Eagle. They both seem very familiar, and have the same amountof ports and same inner diameter (-8). I would pick the G.E. over the STR cuz I've never had or heard much a problem about their stuff. The G.E. can be had for $115 shipped, and I've seen the STR for $93 shipped.

probably what I'm going with. Was the FPR on the rail or on the firewall?

right on the rail. the far end of it. and fuel pressure gauge was on the top of the rail. It was on General Lee's car.
