I have been looking around for used cars for a friend of mine. For kicks I looked into the ITR. I never thought I would see so many for sale! Although some prices are rediculous, some are very reasonable. Anybody have a clue as to why so many are out there for sale? I saw a 2001 ITR w/ 3000k for 22,900. That seems lke a good price to me.

 

That's because those people can't afford it or they weren't real car enthusiats to begin with. (I'm sure there are a few who ditched it for faster/better cars as well.)

 

I'd never pay $22.9K for a car w/ 3 million miles on it.

At 3 million miles and the approximate diameter of the earth measured at 10^7m, you would have to drive around the world about 4.8 times! And traveling at an average of 60mph, would take you 27 years.

when i began advertising my ITR in mid-june, i.e. <3 months ago, there were fewer than ten (probably ~five from what prospective buyers told me) 2001 ITRs for sale anywhere in the country. amazing but true. i got calls from all over the country from people who simply couldn't find any Rs to buy. needless to say, i got a very good price for mine.

 

i noticed that about a lot of Rs for sale also. reasons are probably theft, cant afford it anymore or finding out better cars. although i think the R is a great car out the box. thats just my opinion.

I got my R in early June of this year. At that time, to the dealerships knowledge there were three available. 2 PY and 1 NBP. I now own the NBP that was still available. That makes me happy

 

LOL, 3000k! What a dumbass. That's what happens when you get 4 hours of sleep in 2 days. I doubt that money is a big issue. It just seems like within 2 months time the amount of R's for sale went thru the roof. Wish I had some money left on the tree. :D
