Default New breeds of headers

I need a new header. I feel my JDM DC is holding me back. I have Jun3's, JUN ECU, and tons of other ****. I'll list it if you guys need it. So anyways.....

I have been looking around for a replacement and I naturally thought of SMPS or Hytech. They are dyno-proven and have exceptional build quality. But in the last couple days I have ran across all these new makers, who's headers look amazing and they are claiming to be as good as the above mentioned.

Does anyone have experience with AN-R or Ten-ninetyfour motorsports? Their headers look amazing and the prices are like half of a hytech. I am hoping you guys can shed some light on them. That would be really cool to get a great header for the prices they are asking. Thanks everyone.

the same thing holds true with headers as does all other add on parts

-you get what you pay for
-you need to research the part (not just posting on here counts)
talk to the guy who designed the header. where did he come up with the design? what crediantails does he have?
-what is the warranty on the product?
-how long is the wait, what if the product takes longer than quoted?

i dont wnat to sound like a punk, but you arent the only person that wants to get a better header. and given that you didnt even post your whole setup, or the goals you have. no one is going to be able to give you a good recomendation based on what YOU need.

Since you asked.

SETUP

Jun3
Jun ECU
Titanium retainors, Jun valve springs
Toda gen 2 gears
Mugen HG
VAFC
Bm FPR
Mugen CAI/JDM DC header/Tanabe RM with resprictions cut out
Toda clutch/fly
Mugen Lowdowns
Volk TE's
spoon bars front/back

GOALS

To have a car that can haul *** in a straight line, and be a beast on the track. Just what everyone else wants i'm sure. Saving a few dollars along the line would be nice also. I will add a hondata down the road as well.

Probably forgeting other stuff but close enough. I am going to be pushing a 200+whp car when tuning is done, or I go 2.0L ... So I want a header that can handle that, and have decent ground clearence.

Research goes without saying. Just getting some REAL LIFE experience, not a sales pitch. AN-R seems to be a great header. Anyone else?

I'm selling my JUN Header for $400.00, and it works very well with the cams, but if you are going 2.0L like I am, it won't do.

with that setup i dont think the JDM DC header is holding you back at all.

now if you had some crazy head work, ITB's, Toda D's or JUN/Toda killer cams or whatever the hell those vtec cams are called then i would step up the header/exhaust combo........

the DC may not be the best design in the world but it's pretty good and im sure it's doing your setup just fine.

IMO i think u should forget about the header and RAISE ur compression, those
JUN 3's ask for alot of compression, ...thats why u probably feel a lack of power....just my 2cents

get bigger injectors, hondata, and your choice of the an-r, bisi, 10-94 or a few others. they are all pretty close to each other.

and they all will be alot better than your dc

if you want mad phat power, you will need to get a real header eventually.

remember there are people with stock internals, just hondata, injectors, intake, smsp or hytech header and TUNED hitting 190+whp

vs u are maybe at that much power with way more internal mods.

sell your jun cams and ecu, and get itr cams with a smsp or hytech header

more reliable too

my tuner is the guy who actually designed the JUN3CAMS, though he has nothing to do with JUN anymore since JUNUSA packed up and left long ago, he still swears by the JUN header for our cars.

what i don't understand is why the header wouldn't still be and awsome header if you did in fact goto 2.0l

You will need more fuel to reach 200 whp

Bigger injectors should be on your list. That and Hondata.

Thanks for all the advise everyone.

My next purchases:

1) hondata
2) Bigger injectors
3) AN-R header I am leaning toward

Or I could say screw it and go 2.0L

Only time will tell.

Very good price on the JUN header. I will consider it. PM if you want.

I added something to your list that needs to be done to get the potential out of the JUN3 cams, atleast 12:1 CR for these cams IMHO.

why dump more money and time into a 2.0 setup, and you could get a custom IM and hytech/smsp header

and make at least 200whp plus the other mods

its not easy getting big power out of a 2.0

you dont see the blood, pain and tears that go into making a fast motor from reading posts on h-t

220 is not big power as you know

its easy to hit 220

cams, compression, tunign, and have it built by a good builder

how long did that b20 last?

specs?

I would jump on this deal. Perfect match for your current setup.
