Thermostat open?

I found a Jackson racing one, that opens @ 160...

Now i have a few questions regarding this.. as i understand it, vtec relies on both the coolant temp, and also adequate oil pressure. would this cause a problem with the car? a friend thought it might.. but i don't see why it would.. ?

I'd imagine it opening earlier would probably be better for the car, since the heat will be taken out faster with coolant flowing through the radiator..
