ITR1162,
I am in AZ until winter break; I go to school out here. For winter break I probably will come back, but won't bring my R. Hoping to come back for the summer so I can go to the Type-R expo, but I will have to see about that. What battle you referring to? Some battle of the imports?
CheezeFrog,
I am experiencing some vibrations at lower RPM's. It's either my heatshield or my header. I figure that the bracket can't hurt, and it will hopefully take care of some of that rattle.

No reason NOT to use it. Better to have the bracket than cracked bolts on the head, as the JDM is only attached by those bolts and the bracket. The USDM has an extra bracket mounted from the lower block to the A-pipe AND the bracket at the collector.
I'm really surprised that Spoon doesn't have anything for their header in respects to a bracket...
Mine doesn't seem loose or anything, but I would wonder if there is anything to help support the bottom portion near the collector.
Anyone seen anything for it? Ideas, etc...

I can't say I've ever heard of a header coming off at the bolts, but it could happen. I doubt it though, as many aftermarket headers do not attach to a lower bracket either, ie; I wouldn't worry about it too much.
You have to also remember that the USDM header is 2 pc, and 10 times heavier than a JDM Honda header. And even heavier than a Spoon header.

Well I think the rattle is comming from the header not having a bracket. Ordered mine today from IPS racing

I doubt that it is that much lighter. I thought that the JDM would be much lighter than the cast USDM, but it wasn't. It was within a few pounds, just picking each of them up one after the other.
JDM header is ~ 10 lighter than it's USDM counterpart.

I think I'll just measure distances and make my own with parts from home depot...
Anyone have the jdm header bracket dimensions? I'll make you an extra one in exchange for them...
whoa, easy there mr. scales for arms..... JDM header is ~ 10 lighter than it's USDM counterpart.
I actually think the bracket is more to help keep stress off the cat, not the header, not that I've ever heard of a broken cat either.
